Former Prime Minister of Thailand and President from Prince of Songkla University Visit KUST

On the morning of Jun 25th, former Thai Prime Minister Chuan Leek Pai and President Chusak Limsakul from Prince of Songkla University (PSU) along with 11 others arrived at Chengong Campus for an educational exchange to improve cooperation between KUST and PSU. KUST’s President Zhang Ying Jie and Vice-President Cheng He Ming attended the gathering.


During the meeting, KUST President Zhang introduced the organizational structure of KUST including each department’s structure and also reported past cooperation between the two countries. KUST Vice-President Cheng He Ming proposed how they can better work together, such as the possibilities of summer and winter camps for educational exchanges to accelerate cooperation.


Former Thai Prime Minister Chuan Leek Pai expressed gratitude and praise regarding the tremendous progress in the changes that have happened to the city of Kunming. PSU President Chusak Limsakul shared their own university’s updates and expressed more interest in improved cooperation in the future.


KUST president Zhang and PSU President Chusak Limsakul signed a cooperation memorandum. Representatives from KUST’s administration, foreign affairs, international, law, finance, and management departments attended and signed the memorandum.


       Prince of Songkla University, established in 1965 and located in the south part of Thailand in Songkla, is a national university with a variety of faculties. PSU is recognized as being one of the top five universities in Thailand and according to Webometrics is ranked 295th in the world.
