Academic Committee Attached to Yunnan’s Earthquake Engineering Research Center Set Up at KUST

An Academic Committee attached to Yunnan’s Earthquake Engineering Research Center was officially set up March 26 at KUST’s Chenggong campus.

A number of important people were present at the inauguration including Professor Li Guoqiang from the College of Civil Enginnering, Tongji University, Ye Liaoyuan, Chairman of University Committee, Yunnan Normal University, and Niu Zhiliang, Vice-President of KUST.

The setting up of the Academic Committee is an important step in further understanding earthquakes in China’s southwest province of Yunnan, a province prone to periodic earthquakes, protecting against and mitigating earthquake disasters, and promoting international academic exchanges into seismic research.
